Bhopal: A case of rape of an MBA student living in Kolar area of Bhopal has come to light. The girl became friends with the accused about five years ago through social media. After initial conversation, the friendship turned into a love affair and then the young man raped the student by luring her with marriage.
When the victim pressured him for marriage, the accused refused citing caste. On the complaint of the student, Kolar police station has registered a case of rape against the accused Deepanshu Chaurasia. At present, the accused is absconding.
According to the police, the 24-year-old girl lives on rent in Kolar area of Bhopal and originally hails from another district adjacent to Bhopal district. About five years ago, she became friends with a young man named Deepanshu Chaurasia on social media. During the conversation, it also came to light that the accused also lives in Kolar area.
Gradually, the closeness between the two grew and a love affair began. During this time, Dipanshu made physical relations with her several times at different places, promising to marry her.
Recently, when the student talked about marriage, the accused refused to marry her by saying that she belonged to a ‘lower caste’. When the youth did not agree, the victim lodged a complaint with the police. The accused is said to be a resident of Jabalpur district and currently works in a pharmacy.
