Zari of Madhya Pradesh a hit in Delhi Haat

  • Humera, who got state award, also set up stall

The skill of weavers from Kashmir to Kanyakumari is visible in the Haat fair organized in Lok Sanvardhan Parv in Delhi’s INA Market.

Zari of Madhya Pradesh remains the center of attraction in this fair organized with the cooperation of the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs. A large number of people have liked it. In the fair, the only state awardee of the state, Humera Khan, a resident of Bhopal, has also set up a stall with excellent artwork of Zari Zardosi of Madhya Pradesh. Apart from suits decorated with Zari Zardosi, household decoration items, the world famous Bhopali wallets are the attractions of the stall.

Humera says that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given special focus to this extinct ancient art. Humera has launched a combination of Zari with Indian pride Khadi here, which is being liked by the people.

Kurien praised Zari art

Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurien reviewed the ongoing Lok Sanvardhan Parv at Delhi Haat Fair on Thursday. During this, he met artists from all over the country including Humera Khan and encouraged them. Kurien praised the Zari art of Madhya Pradesh.
